The total number of COVID-19 cases in Nevada County hit 476 on Wednesday, an increase of 13 from the day before.
Western county had 286 cases, and eastern county had 190. There were 74 active cases on Wednesday, a rise of eight from the prior day. There have been 397 recoveries, and five deaths.
Cases have continued to climb in the county. There were 357 on Aug. 11. By Aug. 18 they had grown to 392, and reached 424 by Aug. 25. They’d hit 449 on Sept. 1.
Two people were hospitalized locally Wednesday with COVID-19.
Of the 17,969 tests performed locally, 2.6% of people have tested positive.
Nationwide, there were 6,310,663 total cases, and 189,147 deaths, the CDC states.
Afternoon UPDATE on Sept. 8, 2020
Total coronavirus cases for Nevada County reached 463 on Tuesday, a rise of seven from last week.
Western county had 276, and eastern county had 187. There were 66 active cases on Tuesday, an increase of one from last Friday. There have been 392 recoveries, and five deaths.

UPDATE on Sept. 8, 2020
Nevada County’s total coronavirus cases rose to 456 on Moday, as it reported six new cases of COVID-19.
All six new cases were in western county, which has 272 cases . Eastern county’s cases remained at 184. There were 65 active cases on Monday, an increase of seven from the prior day. There have been 386 recoveries, down one from the previous update, and five deaths.
One person is currently hospitalized in Nevada County due to COVID-19.
UPDATE on Sept. 3, 2020
Nevada County’s total coronavirus cases held at 450 on Thursday, as it reported no new cases of COVID-19.
Western county had 266 cases on Thursday, a change from the 268 it reported the day before. Eastern county’s cases rose to 184 from 182. There were 58 active cases on Thursday, a decrease of eight from the prior day. There have been 387 recoveries, and five deaths.
Cases have continued to climb in the county. There were 316 on Aug. 4. By Aug. 11 they had grown to 357. They reached 392 on Aug. 18, and 424 on Aug. 25.
